Family Planning We offer a comprehensive contraceptive service including the pill, depot prescriptions, Intra uterine devices, implants, cap fitting and emergency contraception. Pre-conception advice can be obtained from all the doctors, who are trained in family planning, in a routine surgery appointment.  We also offer confidential teenage appointments.
Sexual Health Clinics School Hill Medical Practice runs a Sexual Health Clinic every Tuesday afternoon between 4-6pm. These clinics are for anybody under the age of 25. You do not have to be registered with the surgery or live in the area to attend. This is a walk-in clinic but patients are also able to book an appointment if they would prefer.

Whether you are registered or not with the practice we would ask you to book in either over the phone or at Reception.

We have close links to the local schools.
All consultations are non judgemental and fully confidential.
Sexual Health Screening We offer a broad service ranging from health advice to full Sexual Health Testing including Syphilis, Gonorrhoea, Chlamydia and HIV. 
Child Health Surveillance All children under 5 in the practice are registered for Child Health Surveillance, which includes regular checks, by the doctors and health visitors in a programme supervised by all the doctors. All the doctors are on the East Sussex Downs & Weald Primary Care Trust approved list for Child Health Surveillance.
Mental Health Services The community psychiatric nurses (CPN’s) see patients with both short and long term psychiatric needs.
Victoria Hospital tel 01273 474153 The Minor Injury Unit (01273 402504) is open from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm for injuries that cannot be treated by home first aid. Highly trained nurses staff the unit.  There is a main A & E department at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.The Lewes Hospital also offers a wide range of outpatient services including X-ray, DEXA-scan, ultra-sound examination and physiotherapy.
Non-NHS services and examinations Some services required by patients may not be covered by the National Health Service. For example examinations for fitness to participate in sports, medicals for insurance companies, pre-employment examinations and those for elderly drivers. Certificates for private insurance purposes and those specifically requested by employers also fall into this category. Please ask at reception for information and details regarding fees.
